Our Founding Story
Dr. Christina Drake invented the main material in NanoRAD as part of her quest to keep she and her family safe at the start of the COVID pandemic.
She recalls walking through a grocery store in the early days of the lockdown and watching a store employee incorrectly use a disinfectant that she was highly allergic to. Christina has been asthmatic from a young age and developed an allergy to bleach. When one of her sons developed asthma, she was determined to limit the number of times he would have to seek medical care in contrast to her experience as an elementary-aged child living in a rural province in the Philippines with limited access to healthcare.
