Kismet wins Central Florida’s most prestigious venture plan competition at Crummer Graduate School of Business Rollins College.

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 23, 2023)—Kismet is pleased to announce that it took the top prize of $50,000 in the Crummer Venture Plan competition. This year’s venture plan competition had 84 applicants, which is double the number in 2022. 16 companies were named semi-finalists, with the top three pitching tonight in the final round.

Dr. Christina Drake, CEO and inventor of NanoRAD, presented in the final round to a panel of esteemed judges from the community. “Christina did a great job presenting our innovative and game-changing antimicrobial technology,” said Shari Costantini, co-founder and president. “We believe this will be a strong tailwind for our upcoming capital raise.”

Kismet Technologies is poised to disrupt the infection control market with its patent-pending product, NanoRAD. NanoRAD, which stands for “Nanobased Residual Active Disinfectant,” works continuously for months because of the use of specially engineered nanoparticles. Plus, NanoRAD works against some of the most severe illness-causing germs that have plagued healthcare and tourism.

The annual Venture Plan Competition, hosted by the Crummer Graduate School of Business every year since 2015, is Central Florida’s largest, most prestigious, and comprehensive business plan and pitch competition for startups. Open to all regionally headquartered startups, the annual competition is where teams battle for funding, exposure, and mentorship in front of the region’s top entrepreneurs, leaders, and venture capitalists. Participants compete for prize money before multiple distinguished judges panels, all of whom are successful investors and entrepreneurs. The competition continues to serve as the platform for Central Florida startup companies to gain exposure and funding.
